The family problems are absolutely the reason his career long best form came to a sudden halt 2 or so years back. The sky fell on his head.

Hopefully, he’s come through it all now, and the stronger for it. Too early to tell, but we couldn’t have asked for more from a debut.

Lingard has had a lot of family problems, which I'd imagine is why he's not been at his best and the reason he's been out the squad.

lanzini 123 PL games (inc the loan) 21 goals.
lingard 133 PL games 18 goals.

Again, context is important - he started 85 of 190 Premier League games in that 5 year period, and 209 including this season.

And 9 of the last 57.

By any measure, that's a long period of inactivity for someone who hasn't been injured.

Two sides to that - either we're getting someone in the prime of their career who isn't burned out and been overplayed from a young age, or you're getting someone who isn't at the level they were in the one season where they did start more than half of Man Utd's league games. On the evidence of last night, it looks like the former. But the suggestion that the latter hasn't happened before is bonkers.

Linegard has played 206 times for Man U over 5 seasons winning the FA Cup, the league cup the Community Shield and the Europa league. He has also and 24 England caps in that time

Lanzini has played 135 times for West Ham over 5 seasons and won fuck all. He has also 5 Argentina caps in that time

Yep almost identical!

Rossal, one thing's for sure and that is you should be no where near our scouting team if you think that playing 206 times over 5 seasons for one of the biggest clubs in the world is just a purple patch

Exactly...... Just because they had a good spell at a top club a few years ago and got some England caps doesnt mean they are still at that level. The fact they havent kicked a ball for best part of a year also is a huge factor in being cautious. That was my point. So glad Jesse last night got off to a terrific start.

Few on here should join our scouting team we'd be bordering Liverpool and Real Madrid in a few years with their foresight and knowledge.

After I clock off today, I'm going to treat myself to yesterday's HIGHLIGHTS.

Then I'm going to MEDITATE on how we are going to SMASH Fulham on Saturday.

Re: Would you like to see Jesse Lingard in a West Ham shirt? - signed Official
Indeed.

Its a comparison of the number of Premier League games they have played. There is, quite intentionally, no comparison of their ability.

Context is required in order to not be an idiot.

I can read fine, You however cannot grasp the concept of comparing two players - You soppy wet wipe.

Re: Would you like to see Jesse Lingard in a West Ham shirt? - signed Official
Comparison - a consideration of the similarities or dissimilarities between two things or people

'Cleverley has played 214 Premier League games. Lingard has played 134.'

That's a fucking comparison!...it amazes me how people like to highlight how thick they are

I didn't mean to put utd, I meant in the PL.

That's not the point, the point is you put up stats about both players which is comparing them, you fucking thick cunt.

stewie griffin 5:25 Thu Feb 4
Re: Would you like to see Jesse Lingard in a West Ham shirt? - signed Official
Cleverley hasn't played more games for Man Utd than Lingard, so I didn't say that. You'd have to be an imbecile to say that. Like you.

boltkunt 5:23 Thu Feb 4
Re: Would you like to see Jesse Lingard in a West Ham shirt? - signed Official
So mentioning the fact that Cleverly has played more games for Utd than Lingard isn't comparing them, no?

You're a fool.
